Digg Alerter 1.3
Published by Adam Lyttle on August 23, 2008

Comments

If you are having issues running Digg Alerter then I highly recommend that you download this new version. Digg recently made a few small changes to their API which prevented Digg Alerter from working properly. This new version fixes those issues.

A special thanks to those who brought these issues to my attention.

Feature Requests

Over the coming months I will be working on a new and improved version of Digg Alerter. So tell me what features you would like to see - and who knows, maybe it will make the cut!

Really awesome .. Thanks !

Manish Pandey commented on August 23, 2008

Thank you very much for the update. About the new features, I would like to see all the names of diggers. We can only see the top 100 users.

Bob commented on August 24, 2008

It doesnt seem to work on Vista... :(

Adam Lyttle commented on August 24, 2008

Bob, what error are you getting (if any)?

LewP commented on August 24, 2008

I have windows Vista and downloaded the new version and it worked fine until I rebooted my computer. I can hear the alert, but I can't open it up to see the alerts.

Jason Dorough commented on August 25, 2008

Thanks so much for this update! I really was missing Digg Alerter, and I appreciate the work you've put into the program. As for additional features... Would it be possible to do some sort of sorting or color coding under Dugg By so that I can see which of the people who Dugg the post are my friends and which are new? I always like to check out new people's profiles after they Digg something of mine, so that would be very useful to me.

Utah SEO commented on August 26, 2008

We were lost without you! Digg is not the same without the Digg Alerter and the hitting the front page would never be the same without the noise. Haha. Thanks so much!!!

Jeff F. commented on August 27, 2008

No wonder nothing was working any more! Thanks for the update!

Bob commented on August 27, 2008

Adam, It doesnt give an error but just doesnt update. The page is just blank all the time.

Bob commented on August 27, 2008

Adam... Just redownloaded and it works.. not sure if you made any tweaks but it works for me on vista now.

Adam Lyttle commented on August 27, 2008

Thanks for the clarification Bob :) You may have downloaded it when I was uploading the new version.

Thanks for the update, I was really missing Digg Alerter when it stopped working ... As for new 'features', how about the ability to be notified of an update! Ian

Thanks for your hard work on this tool, I tried to install it on Ubuntu using wine, installation went fine, but when I launch it, I get this error "object variable or with block variable not set" any ideas?

Jay J. commented on September 30, 2008

this is awesome..makes things so much easier!! Thanks a lot!!

Me Dumb commented on October 19, 2008

I installed it on an XP machine, entered in my user name, and I can see the program's icon in the system's tray. But I cannot get any info from it or open up any menus. I tried right/left clicking on the icon and nothing happens.

FEATURE SUGGESTION 1) differentiate friends and fans under the Diggs column: Diggs: 45 Friends: 23 Fans: 3 2) Tally diggs by the user beside their name so you can spot the active ones. Very helpful in identifying good fans. 3) Color code the diggers list according to friend relationship

Doiveo commented on November 7, 2008

Oh, and thank you!

Thanks, it is rather great work!

Is this allowed by digg? Isn't it a script?
